PERMITS:
Permits are valid for 5 days. Driver must have permit prior to entering the state.

TRAVEL TIME:
Loads that do not exceed 10′ wide, 14′ high, 105’ long, or have an overhang in excess of 10′ are allowed continuous travel with proper safety equipment. All other loads are allowed to travel one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset, including Saturday and Sunday.

RESTRICTED TRAVEL:
Loads exceeding 10′ wide, 14′ high, 105′ overall length are prohibited travel from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday in the following counties: All highways south of Perry Interchange, I-15, exit 357; all highways in Weber, Davis, and Salt Lake counties, all highways north of Ironton Interchange, Exit 261 on I-15, SR75 and SR68 MP 16 in Utah county. No travel is allowed starting at 2:00 p.m. the day prior to a major holiday and on Pioneer Day (July 24th) until daylight the following weekday.

On other highways:

Note: Loads exceeding 10′ wide, 105’ long, or have an overhang in excess of 10′ need an escort when moving at night.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
“Oversize Load” signs and red flags are required on all vehicles exceeding 10′ wide, 14′ high, or 105′ long. Red flags are required on front overhangs exceeding 3′ or rear overhangs exceeding 4′. Loads 10′ wide must have marker lights indicating extreme width, amber lights at the front and center of the load, and red lights at the rear. Overhang exceeding 20′ (front or rear) must have a rotating or flashing beacon mounted at end of the overhang. Loads with 3′ front and 4′ rear overhang require steady amber marker light (front overhang) or red clearance light (rear overhang). Warning lights are required when headlights are necessary.
