PERMITS:
Permits are valid for 10 days.

TRAVEL TIME:
Travel is allowed one-half hour after sunrise to one-half hour before sunset, Monday through Saturday. Loads not exceeding 125,000 lbs. with legal dimensions may have continuous travel, except holidays (must be requested when permit is ordered).

RESTRICTED TRAVEL:
No travel is allowed on Sundays and on major holidays. No travel is allowed in Atlanta, between 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday in the area bounded by I-285.

LEGAL DIMENSIONS:
Width: 8’6″ (8′ on some non-designated)
Height: 13′ 6″
Length: 75′ (including overhang) is legal with 48′ to 53′ trailer, 60′ overall on some non-designated routes.
Weight: 80,000 Gross; Single – 20,340; Tandem – 34,000; Tridem – depends on spacing, not more than 20,340 on any axle.

ROUTINE PERMIT LIMITS:
Width: 15’6”
Height: 16′
Length: no set maximum.
Weight: Single – 23,000; Tandem – 46,000; Tridem – 60,000; 5 Axles – 100,000; 6 Axles – 125,000;
7 Axles – 148,000
Loads exceeding these dimensions or weights have to be applied for as Super Loads.

ESCORTS:
Width: Over 12′ up to & including 14’8″ – 1 rear escort or amber light* on Interstate or limited access highway; 2 escorts (or 1 escort and rear amber light*) on 2-lanes; over 14’8″ up to and including 16’–1 escort on Interstate or limited access highway; 2 escorts on 2-lane road. Over 16′ – 2 escorts and 1 Police escort.
Height: Over 15’6″ – 1 escort with height pole. (Escort may be required for 15′ or greater when traveling through larger cities).
Length: Over 75′ – 1 escort or amber light* at each corner of rear of load. Over 100′ – 1 escort, Over 125′ – 2 escorts
Note: Must have Georgia amber light permit to use flashing amber light.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
“Oversize Load” signs are required on all permit loads. Flags are required on all four corners and extremities of oversized loads.

Note: DOES NOT RECOGNIZE QUADS OVER 150,000 POUNDS
